Dean of Exeter

The Very Reverend Jonathan Greener, Dean of Exeter

The Very Reverend Jonathan Greener studied Theology at Trinity College Cambridge before entering the family hearing aid factory, where he was responsible for sales and marketing (and export to 43 countries). At the age of 29, he moved to Yorkshire, to train for ordination at the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield. He started ordained life at the Elephant and Castle in South London in 1991, before moving to Cornwall to become Chaplain to the Bishop of Truro. Brighton came next, where he was Vicar of the lovely Church of the Good Shepherd for 7 years. In 2003, he moved north to become the Archdeacon of Pontefract, and four years later moved to Wakefield Cathedral as Dean. He was installed as the 71st Dean of Exeter in November 2017.

Jonathan is married to Pamela, a retired international tax accountant, now a freelance musician.
